How it is calculated

ACOS = ad spend ÷ sales from ads. ROAS = sales from ads ÷ ad spend.

TACOS = ad spend ÷ total sales, including sales that did not come from ads.

Organic share = (total sales − sales from ads) ÷ total sales. If it grows while ad spend stays the same, ads are helping organic sales.

Questions sellers ask

What is the difference between ACOS and ROAS?
They are two views of the same numbers. ACOS is ad spend ÷ ad sales; ROAS is ad sales ÷ ad spend. 25% ACOS = ROAS of 4.
What is a good TACOS?
It depends on margin and stage. Launching products often run a high TACOS on purpose; mature products usually aim for a TACOS that leaves profit after all costs. Watch the trend: falling TACOS while sales grow is a good sign.
Why is my ACOS higher than yesterday's report?
Recent days are still collecting sales: Amazon credits a sale to an ad up to 7 days after the click for Sponsored Products bought by sellers, so the newest days look worse until those orders arrive.
Should I lower ACOS at any cost?
No. Cutting bids lowers ACOS but can also cut sales and organic rank. Aim for a target ACOS below your break-even ACOS, not the lowest possible ACOS.
