Amazon listings that pass Amazon's rules, and sell

SellerPilot scores every listing out of 100 against Amazon's rules, best sellers first: title length and banned characters, five bullets, description, backend search terms, image count and Amazon's own listing issues. Fix them in one editor with live checks; Amazon validates every edit before it goes live, and nothing changes without your approval.

In short

How it works

  1. Every listing is scored

Title length and banned characters, bullets, description, backend search terms, images and Amazon's own listing issues.

  2. Best sellers first

Fixing a listing that sells matters more than fixing one that doesn't, so the list starts with your best sellers.

  3. Edit with live checks

Titles, bullets, keywords and pictures (JPEG or PNG, 1000 px and up) in one editor.

  4. Amazon validates

Each edit goes through Amazon's own validation before you approve it.

  5. Approve and log

The edit goes live on your approval and is written to the change log.

Example

Fixing a listing that sells

A pillow cover listing scores 72 of 100: its title is 92 characters and leaves out two of the searches it converts on, and it has 6 images.

In the editor the seller lengthens the title with those searches, within Amazon's limit for the category, and adds a seventh image. Amazon validates the edit; it waits for approval as "1 edit waiting".

They approve it, the edit goes live and is written to the change log, and the score updates on the next check.

Illustrative numbers, not a customer result.

What a strong Amazon listing has

A title that leads with the product and its key attribute within Amazon's length limit and without banned characters; five bullets that answer the buyer's questions; a description; backend search terms for the words that do not fit the visible text; and enough clear images, the first on a white background. Amazon suppresses listings that break its rules, so passing them comes first.

Listings and ads together

  • Searches your product converts on but your listing does not mention, from keyword research
  • Listing errors in the morning check, next to ads and stock
  • Price changes with a safety limit, approved like any other change

What it does not do

Stated plainly, so you know before you start.

  • It does not write listings by itself; you edit and approve
  • It does not change a listing without your approval
  • Amazon decides what goes live; a rejected edit shows Amazon's error

Questions sellers ask

How do I optimize an Amazon listing?
Pass Amazon's rules first (title length, banned characters, image requirements), then make the title, bullets and backend search terms cover the searches that convert, and use clear images. SellerPilot scores each listing and shows what to fix.
How long can an Amazon title be?
Amazon sets the limit by category; many categories allow up to 200 characters, and Amazon now encourages shorter titles. SellerPilot checks the length against Amazon's rules for your listing.
Can SellerPilot edit my listings?
Yes, through the editor: Amazon validates each edit before you approve it, and nothing goes live without your approval.
What are backend search terms?
Hidden keywords in a listing that help it appear in search without showing on the page, within Amazon's byte limit.
