Make your ad budget last into the hours shoppers buy

Budgets & hours reads when your marketplace's shoppers buy (your own orders by hour and weekday, ads and organic) and when your ad money is spent (Amazon's hourly Marketing Stream). It shows the busiest six hours, the quiet hours you could switch ads off, and per campaign how long its budget lasts now and how long it would with those hours off.

When your shoppers buy, when your ad money runs out, and the quiet hours to switch ads off.

  • Your orders by hour and weekday, ads and organic
  • When each campaign's budget runs out, now and with quiet hours off
  • For profitable campaigns, the daily budget that keeps them on all day
  • Optional hours autopilot keeps the off-hours up to date (Auto mode)

How it works

  1. Hours are read

Your Amazon orders by hour and weekday, and Amazon's hourly ad spend and clicks from Marketing Stream, in your marketplace's own time zone.

  2. Busy and quiet hours

The busiest six hours, and the quiet hours with their share of orders and of ad spend.

  3. Per campaign

How long its budget lasts now, how long it would last with the quiet hours off and the share of shoppers each covers; for profitable campaigns, the daily budget that keeps it on all day.

  4. Use it

Set the off-hours per campaign yourself in Schedules & dayparting, or switch on the hours autopilot (part of Auto mode on Growth and Agency; it has its own switch): once a day it gives campaigns that run out early the store's quiet hours off. The hourly job pauses and restarts them.

The hours autopilot's limits

  • The busiest hours are never switched off
  • Never more than 12 hours off a day
  • Campaigns with no orders are left alone: more hours do not help a campaign that does not sell
  • Hours you set by hand are never changed
  • Nothing runs while all ads are switched off

What it does not do

Stated plainly, so you know before you start.

  • The analysis is read-only and makes no Amazon call
  • The hours autopilot is off until you switch it on, after a preview
  • Hourly ad figures come from Amazon's Marketing Stream

Questions sellers ask

Why switch ads off at night?
If a campaign's budget runs out before your busy evening hours, money spent in quiet hours is money not spent when most shoppers buy.
Which time zone?
Your marketplace's own: Gulf time for Amazon.ae, Pacific time for Amazon.com, and so on.
Is the hours autopilot on every plan?
It is part of Auto mode on Growth and Agency, with its own switch (Ads do not have to be on Auto, only not Off). On Starter you can read the hours and set them yourself.
