My ACOS is too high

A high ACOS is a list of small leaks: searches that click but never sell, bids above what a click is worth at your target, budget that runs out on the campaigns that sell and runs on in the ones that do not. SellerPilot finds each leak every morning and closes it, one small change at a time.

Bring ACOS toward your target with bids, budgets and negatives that each show their reason, inside your limits.

  • Each product's break-even ACOS
  • Searches that waste money
  • Bids above their worth
  • Budget in the wrong place

What SellerPilot checks

Each check names its source in your own Amazon data.

  1. Each product's break-even ACOS

From your price, Amazon's fees and your product cost: the ACOS at which an ad sale makes nothing. With profit-based targets switched on, each product's break-even sets its target, so a low-margin product is not pushed like a high-margin one. Source: your product costs, Amazon's fee estimates.

  2. Searches that waste money

Search terms with clicks and no orders over 30 days, and the words that repeat across them. Source: your search term reports.

  3. Bids above their worth

Keywords with enough clicks (10 by default) whose ACOS is off target, and placements whose ACOS differs from the campaign's. Source: keyword and placement reports.

  4. Budget in the wrong place

Campaigns at or under 80% of target that run out of budget on most days, and campaigns that spend without selling. Source: campaign reports and budget use.

  5. The newest days left out

Orders arrive up to 7 days after a click for Sponsored Products, so the newest 2 days are left out of every bid decision.

What the agents do

Auto is off until you switch it on; on Suggest every change waits for your OK.

By themselves (Auto)

  • Bids moved toward the target, about half way in one step, inside your lowest and highest bid
  • Budget raised up to 25% for a campaign that sells under target and runs out; cut for one that does not sell
  • Negatives for searches with 12 or more clicks and no order; harvested search terms moved into exact campaigns

Wait for your OK

  • A new campaign from harvesting beyond your limit per run
  • Anything above the largest move per run or outside the daily cap
  • A product cost that is missing, so its break-even is unknown

Every change passes the six gates: the morning data check, an independent check, your hard limits, Amazon's preview and read-back, the outcome check with automatic undo, and the stop button with a full log. How the agents work.

A worked example

In the demo store the target is 25% and the account ran at 31%. The morning run found 9 searches with 96 clicks and no orders ('free shipping', 'cheap'), 6 keywords bidding above their worth, and one winner at 16% ACOS that ran out of budget on 24 of 30 days.

The agents added the negatives, moved the 6 bids half way toward the target and raised the winner's budget from 50 to 62.50. Two bids on keywords with only 7 clicks were left alone: not enough to judge.

Fourteen days later the Results page showed the budget raise as the best change of the month and one bid raise as worse; that one was undone by itself.

Demo store with sample data; illustrative numbers, not a customer result.

What you see

  • Every change with the clicks, spend, orders and ACOS behind it
  • ACOS and TACOS per campaign, product and keyword, against the break-even per product
  • Results in money per step: bids, budgets, negatives, placements

Questions sellers ask

Will it just lower every bid?
No. Bids move toward the target in both directions: down where ACOS is above it, up where there is room to win more at the target. A keyword with too few clicks is left alone.
What if my product costs are not entered?
Then the account target applies and the break-even per product is unknown. SellerPilot lists the products sold without a cost on Agent home; enter them once and, with profit-based targets on, every target follows.
Is this the autopilot?
Yes. Every one of these changes starts as a suggestion with its reason; on Auto the routine ones run by themselves inside your guardrails, and everything is logged and undoable.
